When A Dreamer Dreams

Scripture: Genesis 41:8

Now in the morning his spirit was troubled, so he sent and called for all the magicians of Egypt, and all its wise men. And Pharaoh told them his dreams, but there was no one who could interpret them to Pharaoh.

The Pharoah of Egypt was having a restless night. He couldn't sleep well, because in the midst of him sleeping he would have a dream that would wake him with questions in his head. The first dream that he had was about fourteen cows. Then he fell asleep again and had another dream about ears of corn. Now he did not understand the dreams that he was having; so he called for magicians to interpet his dreams, as well as the wise men; but no one could interpet his dreams.

That's when the chief cupbearer within his chambers informed him that there was one that could interpet his dreams; one who was a servant that was in the dungeon as a prisoner. Pharoah was not concerned that a servant would give him the answer to the meaning of the dreams; he just wanted to know what they meant. So they called Joseph from the dungeon. When Joseph arrived in the presence of Pharoah, he gave God the glory for giving him the ability that he possessed to reveal the meaning of dreams.

Reflection:
Just as there were wise men and magicians in the time of Joseph, so are there today. However, there are only certain people that God has given the ability to interpet dreams. Not  everyone can see what a dreamer sees. When a dreamer dreams, the meaning of the dream is not always clear to the dreamer; until God brings someone that we least expect; into the picture to give the understanding. Nor, can many relate to the mind of dreamer. It takes the anointing of God for us to be able to conceptualize what God is birthing within a dreamer.

Prayer:
Father God, thank you for the ability to dream, and to interpet dreams; so that I will understand your will for my life, and for the lives of others. I thank you that the ability that you have deposited within me, to see what the dreamer sees; will be used for your glory, honor, and praise. In Jesus name, Amen.
