Scripture: Psalm 119:164
Seven times a day I praise You, Because of Your righteous ordinances.
By committing to put the Lord first, we express to the Lord that He is first and foremost in our lives, and that nothing comes before Him. Yes, it can be a challenge to think about our daily schedule before we even have a chance to open our eyes. However, we must reprogram our emotions, and our physical bodies, to do what we want them to do. Making a conscious effort to praise the Lord with our whole heart, and minds before we even roll out of bed.
When we begin our day with praise: on our minds, in our hearts, and on our lips, we develop a perpetual position of praise; because God is dependable, reliable, trustworthy, just, and righteous. He is not double-minded in any way, shape or form. He is a God of integrity, that says and does exactly what He says he will do.
Many distractions will come throughout our day. However, we must learn to reprogram the direction of our thoughts; by thinking on the goodness of Jesus. Let us think about how He loved us so much that He dedicated His life to us; so that we would know how to get back to our heavenly Father. He was, and is the master teacher; of how to be loving, selfless, caring, and giving. He alone is worthy of all of our attention. He alone is worthy to receive the love, that He has given us to love Him with. He is the one that wakes us in the morning with His loving care, to experience life, as He has designed it. He deserves to be at the forefront of our minds, in praise, worship and adoration.
Reflection:
Remembering that the blessings of the Lord Maketh rich and added no sorrow with it; reminds us to praise Him. Remembering that His mercy and His grace are throughout all generations; reminds us to praise Him. Remembering that He is the only true and living God, and He loves His children unconditionally; reminds us to praise Him. Remembering that He does not put pressure on us whatsoever; but His yoke is easy, and His burden is light, reminds us to praise Him.
For He is merciful, loving, and caring. He is a Holy God that is true to His Word. When we think about the goodness of the Lord, and all that He has done for us; our souls' desire will be to praise Him throughout the course our days.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, I thank you for dedicating your life to me, so that I would know how to live this life that you have given me. I thank you for your grace, and your mercy. I thank you for teaching me, and guiding me in your word on a daily basis. I thank and praise you for continually being a compass to my eyes, so that I will not be lost in darkness. I thank and praise you for holding me through the midnight hours, and speaking to me in my inner ear. I thank and praise you for giving rest to me from the cares of my day. I thank and praise you for showing me how to love, and showing me how to care for others. You are the compass of my soul, and I praise you, for all that you have done; and continually do for me. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
